At Beefy, your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using our app you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly (name, email address, and health metrics such as age, weight, height, and dietary goals), photos you upload for meal logging, app usage data and interaction logs, and device information such as OS version and device model.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to provide and personalise the app experience, power AI meal recognition and nutritional estimates, calculate your calorie and macro targets, send you progress notifications and recommendations, improve our models and services, and respond to support requests.

3. Photos and Meal Data

Meal photos you submit are processed by our AI pipeline to identify food and estimate nutritional content. Photos may be temporarily stored on our servers during processing. We do not use your meal photos to train external third-party models without your explicit consent.

4. Health Data

Health and fitness data (weight, calories, macros, activity) is sensitive. We store it securely and do not sell it to advertisers or third parties. Where available, data may optionally sync with Apple Health or Google Fit — this is always opt-in and under your control.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with trusted service providers who help us operate the app (e.g. cloud hosting, analytics) under strict confidentiality agreements. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile settings, which permanently removes your personal data from our systems within 30 days.

7. Security

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest) to protect your data. However, no system is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

8. Children's Privacy

Beefy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have done so, we will delete that data promptly.

9. Your Rights

10. Third-Party Services
